My Bridge to Life
I painted this piece during one of the most difficult—and ultimately victorious—chapters of my life.
While away from home undergoing radiation treatment after surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor, I found myself holding on to hope through every brushstroke.
On the left side of the painting lives the fear and uncertainty that came with the diagnosis. It represents the whirlwind of tests, the unknown, and the weight of hearing the word malignant.
The bridge itself symbolizes the journey—crossing over through surgery, radiation, and the battle that followed.
And on the right side: healing. Renewal. Life.
That’s where I stand now—cancer free.
This painting isn’t just about survival. It’s about transformation, courage, and the quiet strength it takes to keep moving forward when everything feels uncertain.
Whether you’re on your own healing journey or standing beside someone who is, I hope Bridge to Life reminds you that beauty can grow even in the hardest moments—and that every step forward is a victory.
